What follows is the homework to prepare for our next lesson.
(1) Pudney: on p. 106, finish translating the rest of passage 3 (lines 7-16);
(2) Introduction to Academic English, pp. 6-12: study the information and rules about
capitalization, sentence structure, and subject-verb agreement; do practice exercises
1a + 1b on pp. 8-9.
(3) Prepare a written response/commentary about one (or more) of the song presentations given in class over the course of our recent lesson. This task was previously assigned in class last Wednesday, November 30.
I asked you to choose one of the song presentations and write a commentary about it with a view to offering (constructive) feedback to the presenters. Please consider the following questions as you write:
Did you previously know this song?
Out of all the class presentations why have you chosen to write about this one in particular?
What did you learn from the presentation?
What aspects of it did you find most interesting, most compelling?
Do you agree with the overall interpretation (or interpretations) suggested by the presenters?
Was there any part of the song or presentation that you found difficult to understand?
Do you have any suggestions for how the the presentation could have been even better?
