Michael Vince Advanced Language Practice

Dear students,

One of your classmates has brought to my attention that there is a free PDF version of Michael Vince’s book Advanced Language Practice available online. Here is the link:

We may do some additional exercises from the book periodically in future lessons. But more than anything, it is a great self-study resource for all of you.

Many thanks to all three students who gave their presentations this past week. They were all very well done. I enjoyed learning more about Julia "Butterfly" Hill and her work to save "Luna" and hundreds of other Redwood trees; Audrey Hepburn and her human rights activism; and Stephen Hawking's challenging life and contributions to our understanding of the universe. I trust that the entire class found the presentations to be interesting and informative just as I did.
